Entreprises

  • Azorean Biodiversity Group (GBA, CITA-A) - University of Azores – Terceira Island - Portugal - Investigator

2013 - maintenant Study of the arthropods from the Azores archipelago as a part of the Island-Biodiv Project (http://island-biodiv.org/).

All the process from the collect of Arthropods in the field with SLAM traps, the species identification in the laboratory and their storage in collection. Entering data on a database. Analyse them testing some GDM and try to find a distribution pattern of the different species depending their origin (Endemic, Native and Introduced) with different biogeographic parameters (size, altitude, age, humidity, etc.) of the archipelago islands (software : R).

Supervising students in traineeship : explain to them the main taxonomic groups encountered in Azores, till the order or the specie if possible. To guide them in their project till a scientific report and an oral presentation of their work.
  • O CITA-A (Centro de Investigação e Tecnologias Agrárias dos Açores) Université des Açores. - Investigator

2012 - 2013 - Dynamics of colonization and invasion of ladybirds : the Azores as a case study.
    - Short-term effects of three prey species on the fitness of Scymnus interruptus Goeze
    - Rearing of two ladybird species: Scymnus nubilus and Scymnus interruptus

Wallon S., Borges I.,Soares A. O., 2013. Assessment of mass rearing on performance of Scymnus nubilus Mulsant. Poster presented for the 12th International Symposium “Ecology of Aphidophaga” from 9th to 13th September 2013. APHIDOPHAGA 12 Belgrade, Serbia.

    I. Borges, S. Wallon, M. Fassin, M. Lloret, A. O. Soares. Short-term effects of three prey species on the fitness of Scymnus interruptus Goeze. Poster presented from 25th to 27th october 2012, for the workshop "Biotecnologia no controle biológico" at the University of Açores (Ponta Delgada, Açores, Portugal).

2010 - 2010 Osmoregulatory strategies in natural populations of the black-chinned tilapia Sarotherodon melanotheron exposed to extreme salinities in West African estuaries.
    - Molecular and histological tools were used to localize the main branchial ion transporters and channels, and branchial Na+/K+-ATPase activity were measured.
