The main innovation is given by the fact that KiteGen can exploit a novel, powerful, endless and almost universally available source of energy: the high altitude wind power. Large wings tethered by strong polymeric ropes, driven by a high-tech control system based on avionic sensors, fly at high altitude, harvesting the energy of powerful winds, much faster and constant than those available near ground.
Status:
The project is now entering in his last industrial phase.
A first farm of 150 MW will be installed at the end of this phase.
