  • Naturex - Application Lab Manager

    Avignon 2009 - maintenant My main objective is to assure the development of a network of technical support for a wide variety of ingredients solutions (colors, antioxidants, flavours, fruit and veg powders and juices, botanical extracts, etc) for the food industry.

    Key responsibilities:
    Work with R&D, Sales and Category managers to be the second point of contact of the customer, presenting products both proactively or requested by the customers.
    Responsible for assuring the assertiveness of the new developments with the local food applications teams.
    Responsible for the Employee development, being able to detect training needs keeping the team updated to new trends and developments.
    Work with Applications Team, Chef and Sales supporting the definition of Front Office strategy.
    Lead cross-technology development and creativity making sure the application is correct for a wide variety of product categories (mainly confectionery, beverages, savoury).
    Drive Cross-Region knowledge sharing. Closely work with Region GM to assure the business objectives compliance.

    2007 - 2009 Key responsibilities:
    - Project Management from concept ideas to launch of the products,
    Quality Management: cold stores audits, on-going improvement of the cold chain,
    - Keeping up-to-date with changes in food legislation, liaising with authorities whenever new concept/product is to be put on market,
    - Making sure products are compliant with local food legislation, quality standards and with consumers expectations.

    2006 - 2007 Key responsibilities:
    - Project Management from concept ideas/meeting with potential customers to launch of the products,
    - New Product Development for UK & European Retailers (beverages, fruit juice, cocktails),
    - Keeping up to date with changes in food legislation (creation of a manual), and ensuring products and labels are compliant (regulatory/technical responsibility),
    - Sourcing ingredients and creation of specification with suppliers,
    - Creation of quality procedure for implementing new raw materials and new products in the factory.
  • Unilever Ireland - Food Technologist

    2005 - 2006 Key responsibilities:
    - Product development for Retail and Catering markets (Wet Sauces & Pastes, Dehydrated Soups & Sauces and Dressings), optimisation of existing products and processes,
    - Keeping up to date with changes in food legislation, counseling/updating relevant departments and ensuring products and labels are compliant (regulatory/technical responsibilities),
    - Determining label data for marketing department and approval of final artworks,
    - Maintenance of recipes on SAP and Interspec, upkeep of Nutrition Database, Specification Database and Recipe Control documentation,
    - Sourcing ingredients and creation of ingredients specification with suppliers,
    - Liaising with Marketing, Sales, Quality, Production, Planning, Finance and Customer Service departments on a regular basis regarding various issues.
    - Dealing with external bodies including FDII and FSAI, Revenue Commissioners.
