PhD – Thesis Title: Micro CHP based on organic Rankine cycle for buildings operating on solar and biomass energy
In parallel of my PhD, different studies have been realized for different industrial companies:
Contract ANR/ADEME with PREBAT Program (9 month)
Study of a micro CHP and a ventilation system for building with low energy consumption (15 kWh/m2.year):
• Design and realization of a test bench for the characterization of a sterling engine units operating on wood pellets
• Identifying the electrical and thermal efficiency for different operating conditions
VEOLIA/DALKIA Contract– Energy (6 month)
Technico-economic analysis for heat recovery from waste heat for incineration systems and biogas engines:
• Review of the different Technical solutions for waste energy recovery
• Economical feasibility study for two applications on waste heat from incineration system and 1 MWel biogas engine
Contract with Fiat Research Centre – Turin, Italy (3 month)
Realization of software for modelling a Rankine bottoming cycle to recover waste heat from exhaust gases for vehicles:
• Developing the structure of the program with Matlab simulink language
• Validation of the results for different operating condition of driving cycle
Co-production of heating, cooling and electricity using solar energy with a thermodynamic cycle:
• Feasibility study including both identifying of end users, laboratory testing for a global management of heating, cooling, and electricity generation for a reference building.
