Project : Rehabilitation & Adaptation Project of Algiers Refinery
According to job specification for material preservation during storage, construction, pre-commissioning and
commissioning procedure there are three preservation phases (Initial preservation, Maintenance during
preservation, Restoration) to enter in SMC Material preservation module for each job plan into an integrated
field plan, Easy plant Software.
* identify preservation resource needs at key project phases, develop and submit staffing plans for Project Manager
Approval, and staff the preservation organization.
* operating machinery must be protected from the elements. Painting, plating, sheltering, use of corrosionresistant materials of construction and many other means are available to achieve the desired protection.
* Unpack and check received equipment and accessories against the requisition and packing lists. Ensure
equipment is in good condition and also protected against rusting / deterioration / dust accumulation. Check
equipment for Vendor's storage requirements, which shall include preservation minimum requirements of
storage atmosphere and preservation expiration date as requirement in accordance with API Recommended
Practice 686.
* For nitrogen sealed equipment, periodical checked, fill nitrogen if necessary to maintain suitable pressure.
* Vapour seals shall be protected, and any damage repaired immediately, until equipment is serviced for start up.
Spray compressor, and turbine casings and rotors with MIL P-10 or equal when it is opened.
* Purge equipment casings with dry nitrogen and seal them with nitrogen gas by providing a nitrogen blanketing
system as required by Vendor's procedure.
Spray bearings with MIL. P-20 or equal, if recommended by Vendor
Apply shafts, exterior surfaces of couplings and unpainted metal parts with MIL. P-19 or equal.

As part of QA/QC department team assigned to warehouse Construction Site main responsibilities include to:
* Ensures compliance to project quality requirement for procured material at receiving warehouse site. ;
* Reviewing Material Test Certificates, EN 10204 3.1 3.2, Inspection Release Certificate referring to ITP / QCP requirement as per applicable code and national regulation ARH, International Codes and Standards: ASTM, ASME/ANSI, API, BS. ;
* Visual Receiving Inspection of all project , Piping, Valves, E & I & Mechanical Materials as per Purchase Order/Packing list/Delivery Note/Shipping Documents. ;
* Maintaining up to date records of Discrepancy Report (DR) & Non Conformance Report (NCR) and implementing of Correcting Action system as per Project Specification & Vendor Requirement. ;
* Involvement in Hydro-Test and Pneumatic Test package preparation & witnessing Pressure &
Pneumatic test prior to release the Test Pack.
* Interface with client's construction supervisors and Subcontractor QC personnel to deal with specific issues. ;
* Liaising with procurement department (Milan & Algeria Offices) to initiate material requisitions, Purchase orders & its follow-up
Accountable for Inspecting and witness examination of material supply.
* Conversant with computerized inventory control system & Materials Management Software (Marian syst.) ;
* Preserving all Materials as per Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) & Quality Management Procedure (QMP).Safe storage, handling, as per vendor / Manufacturer Instruction.
