Started professional life at Siemens Computer Division, providing technical support to Mainframe Computers customers.
Then moved to the Companhia do Metropolitano de Sao Paulo in charge of the implementation of the Interlocking of it's first line.
Then started at CMW Systems, leading its technical team. This company was acquired by Alstom in 1995.
Always in charge of the technical direction, I have one patent granted: a CBTC (computer based train control) consisting of an integrated ATC & ILK equipment, for track and board. This equipment started operation in 1988 and is widely used in the Metros of Sao Paulo and Buenos Aires. Recently also in San Francisco - USA on BART.
Expatriated in 2002 to Alstom France to lead the Engineering Process Team of TIS (Alstom’s Transport Information Solution division) which achieved CMMI level 2 and even levels 3 and 4 in two sites.
From 2004 to 2006 Project Manager of the Smartlock 400 R&D development / ALSTOM - France.
From July 2011, still based in France, I started to work for a consulting company (HEADWAYX ENGENHARIA LTDA), as a senior engineer and general coordinator of the contract with the Line 1 of the Panama Metro, acting as a contact, in Europe. Main activities were: the analysis of the executive project, monitoring factory and field testing and the implementation of the systems and equipment provided by Alstom (TIS, TGS and RS), Thales, TSO and CIM, covering: Train Control System; System Power Control; Passenger Flow System; Centralized Control System; Auxiliaries Control System; Signaling and Control System based on CBTC technology; Emergency Power System; Telecommunications System; Rolling Stock; Permanent Way; Turnouts; Catenary System and Maintenance workshops. This activity continued after my return to Brazil, in the beginning of 2013, until the start of the commercial operation, in February 2014.
In parallel with the activities with the Panama Metro, I’ve started, in June 2013, as the Coordinator of Signaling, Telecommunication, Traffic Light Signaling and Operation, Control Center and Ticketing systems in the implementation of the Light Rail Transit system of the “Região Metropolitana da Baixada Santista”, in the state of São Paulo. The first section of this LRT is already in trial operation and will start commercial operation in the beginning of 2016.
