    2013 - 2017 Essential Functions:
    • Manage a patent portfolio (including international filings and renewals) which protects MPO technology for best competitive advantage as well as ensuring freedom to operate.
    • Work with the engineering and project groups to identify and define innovative opportunities for patenting.
    • Work with external attorneys to prepare patent applications and direct responses to official actions.
    • Conduct patent searches
    • Analyze third party patents and develop strategies for the mitigation of risks.
    • Form an active part of the MPO IP function network
    • Though mainly patent focused, this role can also involve general IP support to ensure all aspects of IP are protected and exploited
    Responsibilities:
    • Ensure translation of the inventor’s ideas into strategically written patents.
    • Develop a portfolio for competitive advantage and freedom to operate.
    • Drive implementation of IP policy, promote IP awareness, coach and support on IP
