Previous experiences include multiple senior management positions in a multinational Service Company for the Air Transport Industry operating in 220 countries world-wide.     - For the IT organisation of a major Bank in Switzerland, led a sourcing implementation project including the renegotiation of the contracted services with existing providers.
    - For a major US Transportation company, led the Business interviews with senior management team to analyse IT alignment and recommend the necessary changes to the Enterprise Architecture.
    - For the IT department of a major European provider of Telecommunications equipment and related services to mobile and fixed network operators, provided advisory support for the development of the sourcing implementation phase.
    - For the CIO of a Swiss Chemical company, delivered a complete strategy for Voice integration to help them streamlining their delivery models over multiple countries and ultimately achieve cost benefits

    2003 - 2006 Responsible for managing high-level projects and businesses requiring cross-departmental coordination at General Management level.
    • Put in place an organisational and finance infrastructure for all of SITA’s Professional Services Activities with the goal of improving profitability by a minimum of 20%
    • As Interim Vice-President, managed the Customer Services and Operations Division ($49 Mio with 180 Operational staff) transferring the Order Management/Order Entry Desk to India resulting in total annual savings of $4 Mio
    • Coordinated strategy and activities of SITA operational units improving billing performance and customer satisfaction and achieving a final result of 4.09 on a scale of 5 for the first time ever
  • Sita (société Internationale De Télécommunication Aéronautique) - Vice-President Customer Solutions & Projects

    2002 - 2003 Responsible for managing five regional teams of 70 Business Solutions Managers and 35 Project Managers. Owned a budget of $38 Mio delivering 70 to 80 projects world-wide.
    • Created and put in place a new incentive plan to reward Sales Support Teams on volume of sales which then reduced churn to zero by highly motivating staff
    • Develop combined teams of Project Managers and Sales Support to allow up-selling of new services resulting in new business opportunities from over half of all existing projects

    2000 - 2001 Responsible for managing four regional teams of 120 Technical pre-sales in 30 countries with full responsibility for a budget of $18 Mio.
    • Put in place an organisation to empower the regions to run their own revenue targets thereby increasing Sales by 20%
    • Managed right sizing program reducing headcount by 15 units, cutting operating costs and improving margins by 15%
    • Implement Knowledge Management and Performance Measurement Processes aimed at improving Pre-Sales productivity by 12%
  • Sita (société Internationale De Télécommunication Aéronautique) - Senior Manager Customer Solutions & Projects - Asia Pacific

    1997 - 2000 Based in Singapore,
    Responsible for establishment and growth of Technical Sales Support and Project Management for the Asia-Pacific Region with responsibility for major outsourcing proposals of $40 Mio annual.
    • Created a team of Technical Consultants and Project Managers (23 people based in Singapore, Sydney, Hong-Kong, Taipei, Tokyo and Seoul) and generated $13 Mio of additional Sales
    • Conceived and successfully implemented a new worldwide methodology for project management and project scoring which was then generalised to all regions worldwide
  • ITS (International Telecommunication Services) - Deputy Program Manager

    1993 - 1997 Responsible for coordination of software development projects with responsibility for 16 technical staff handling 5 to 10 projects with a total annualised value of $12 Mio.
    • Defined and developed new products in coordination with marketing to generate additional business for $10 to $20 Mio yearly
    • Led the transition to new technologies with training in new object oriented programming languages in less than six months
  • Sequent Computers (now IBM) - Product Line Manager

    1992 - 1993 Responsible for establishment of a development team for OSI products in Europe and in charge of the worldwide strategy to develop the product line working with 11 engineers and technical writers.
    • Defined and helped to develop the OSI strategy which was presented at numerous Trade Fairs to partners and customers world-wide
    • In less than three months, selected partners for developing the new OSI product line
    • Led and won SITA RFP for their new messaging platform based on an Oracle database running on parallel systems despite intense competition from IBM and SUN among others
  • Sita (société Internationale De Télécommunication Aéronautique) - Senior Consultant

    1989 - 1991 Handled development of customised solutions with responsibility for marketing proposal, engineering and operational implementation. Also developed and delivered new OSI standards courses and new network equipment operations for operators world-wide.
    • Proposed new innovative solutions to SITA customers which contributed to winning multi-million dollar contracts including with Lufthansa, American Airlines, Galileo and Boeing
    • Implemented customised on budget and in time solutions irrespective of location - Melbourne, Dallas and more
    • Developed an X.25 course in less than one month with delivery in America and Asia within two months
    • Defined training paths and methodology for implementation of new telecommunication services with staff operational in less than a year world-wide
  • Banque Nationale de Paris - Project Manager

    1986 - 1989 Responsible for coordination of four teams of 14 engineers to develop an international network for BNP
    • Defined and supervised development of the new international network consisting of Tandem Computers and X.25 switches to achieve 50% savings on SWIFT worldwide invoicing
    • Implemented a messaging and telex application which saves 30% of all telex costs to the 200 branches of the Bank
    • Managed implementation of the X.25 international network with five backbone sites and 40 satellite countries which cut international leased line expenditures by half and telephone expenditures by a third
  • Electricité de France - Chef de Centre de Calcul

    Paris 1982 - 1986 Responsible for development of new telecommunication protocols for IBM and Bull terminal emulation and later in charge of the Chatou Data Centre for running energy applications.
    • Developed and tested universal terminal emulation with a goal to replace all proprietary terminals in less than one year.
    • Defined and implemented operational procedure for the Data Centre reducing ratio of incidents from three a month to three a quarter
