Jean-Luc Cerdin is Professor in Human Resource Management at ESSEC Business School, Paris, France. He has a PhD in Management from Toulouse University and a Master of Science from London School of Economics. He is the co-creator and Academic Co-Director for the Executive Part Time Master Program in HRM at ESSEC Business School. He is also Pedagogical Director for Apprenticeship at ESSEC Business School.

He researches, publishes and consults in three primary areas, human resource management in multinational organizations, international assignee management and career management. He has contributed numerous articles to French (such as Revue de Gestion des Ressources Humaines and Management & Avenir) and international academic journals (such as Journal of International Business Studies, Human Resource Management, Journal of Organizational Behavior and Human Relations) and professional ones. He also serves on several editorial boards. He has also published books on expatriation and career management. Jean-Luc was the Winner of the Human Resource Management/OB category in the 2006 ecch European Case Awards. He has served as a visiting professor at Rutgers University and University of Missouri St-Louis, and a visiting scholar at Wharton. He has been elected Car Representative at large of the Academy of Management in 2009.
